枫下茶话 / 美国话题 / TN moving to US, what document do I need to import my vehicle into USI have a GM SUV I bought in US 2 years ago and now it's registered in Ontario. I'm moving to US on TN, what document do I need to import it into US? I gave the original US title to the motor vehicle office in Ontario 2 years ago when I register the license. Do I need to contact GM for a letter saying that it conforms to the US emission standard? Thanks.

需要dealer的letter，但通常是打电话找manufacturer要。

过程如下1. 你可能要找厂商的 CAR comformance letter.
2. 你可以在TN边境入关时，声明 import car.
3. 你也可以在你安定下来后，找到一个最近的 PORT of Entry, 去取得 car related entry document.
4. 凭海关的 文件，可以到DMV 上牌。 你要有加拿大的ownership file, insurance(加拿大的insurance话可以用）。 有些地方可能要交税（如果你在一年前买的车）
