As mentioned in the CIC web site, if the visit is shorter than 6 months, no study permit is required.

Thanks for your reply. I called VAC, they said the same thing. But I found this on the website: kids under 18, as a minor child, they should apply for study permit. You need to apply for a study permit before arriving in Canada, even for short-term study, if:
•you are considered a minor in the province where you will study,
So I'm wondering if anyone who had the same case could confirm that we could apply for short-term student temporary resident visitor visa, without study permit. Thanks a lot.

你好！我也想申请侄女来夏令营。请问你是到社区给她报名吗？是不是先申请到签证，然后再报夏令营？现在夏令营报名已经开始了，如果签证要过两个月拿到，到时候夏令营的位置说不定已经满了，报不到。
