if he only wants to study, then get Study Permit. For sure he can't study without a study permit even he holds a valid work permit. CHECK the remarks on the work permit.

Part time study without a study permit while holding a full time work permit? check the remarks on her current Work Permit. There may be restriction(s) on it.

Another reminder: this current 3-yr open work permit is under Post Graduate program - PGWP, which IS ONLY ISSUED TO A PERSON ONE TIME IN A LIFE. If she does not use it, she will not get a same type in her entire life.
