1. What type of HR workflow approval scenario that you are referring to? Just in general?2. It's easy if you know workflow. 3. Depend on your requirement. Can be done in the config or customized using Abap. 4. Curious, why don't you ask these questions to your implementation partner or consultants?

We are using Notes Domino for all global HR related apps. SAP will be the next platform to upgrade. I know all the current in-and-out workflow and development process, I am curious about what "huge" benefit we can get from SAP.Some people say by using SAP, what we do is to simply setup parameters in configuration, and let system do everything for you. Those people are now having very high expectation for the coming SAP platform, which is a really unrealistic and dangerous situation for IT department to roll out migration plan for every HR module.

SAP tasks aren't always that easy.Hope you have a good implementation team. The project that you are involved seems at the first stage (R/1) of implementation...still a long way to go to R/3 stage (just a joke inside SAP industry).

Anyone knows of any Open Source J2EE based HR module is available, or less expensive one(s) with extensions opened to further development ? Here HR modules include: Employee Profile, Absence Tracking, Training Records, Master Docs Mgmt, etc.
