dvd player基本不支持h263,8g对一个比较长的电影根本不够，目前最好的解决办法就是上卫星接收集

Are you going to buy Blu-ray discs for every new movie? aren't you! not a good solution! the reality is every home has TV ,no matter big or small, but few people play games. Plus we want to save money!

It works out PS3 cheaper than regular Blu-Ray DVD Player. You can now buy a PS3 B-R Remote. It will work as a normal DVD player. The quality of those movies are not beatable.

Again,are you going to buy or rent BR movies? Do you have a BR DVD burner to copy a movie onto a BR disc? many people don't play games! why buy PS3 or XBOX?

YouTube has step by step video guide about how to boot PS3 into Linux. PS3 has built-in NIC and it can be used as the fastest PC you can find. Many excellent PS2 games are now under $20.

If you have the latest Microsoft Media player installed on your PC, your PS3 can play those movies stored in your PC directly. It can play avi format.

I burn dvd-rip on dvd-rw, using my up-converting dvd player, not bad at all. also there is a sd card reader on it, another choice.also hdtv is Free, you can get free to air signal. or you can connect your pc directly to lcd tv.

买了1080p大电视,而不准备买Blur-Ray DVD 或subscribe HD TV 节目的, 基本上就是浪费. 和买非1080p的没大区别. 好处就是过几年不用再升级买1080P

如果买来不立刻看HDTV其实成像效果还不如720P/480P的电视,过几年1080P电视价格只有现在的一半,功能和成像技术提高很多.所以结果不言而明

图像质量HDMI==DVI，没用过不要误导DVI是5，6年前就有的技术，一个带dvi的显卡便宜的只要30多。我就用一台P4 2.4G的旧电脑+dvi显卡+带光纤输出的声卡，连接42"ＬＣＤ，音响系统用普通的pioneer receiver+6.1 环绕音箱, 网上download BD/HD DVD rip, 效果不比BD Player差。再加上CH4221 天线收HD节目，完全发挥电视和音响功效，而且费用低廉

LZ电脑装备太差。偶认识的人还没见过谁家只有一台电脑的。DVI显卡已经早就普及了，双输出的显卡也是很平常，并且DVI图像质量等于HDMI。就算你不买蓝光，也太凑合了

支持，说的对！LZ就是一土包子，我家有五台电脑，其中一台用DVI接LCD电视的HDMI，看HD高清电影超过一年，从一个1080p高清的《king kong》《九寨沟》25g到最近blu ray转rmvb，720p的《蜘蛛人》只要1.3g。蓝光也不过就是这个样子，有啥大惊小怪的？LZ吓唬我们乡下人啊？

忘记讲了，现在使用的台式机就一台，另当然还有笔记本了。不过这位“乡下人”有五个台式机？是不是20年前的80286机还在用？扩充为512K的内存，5“的软盘驱动器?你还是把所有的房客，房东的电脑都加到你那里去了？可能你还有五辆“永久牌”自行车呢！

本来看了LZ的帖子就回贴，谁家没有个两三台电脑啊？即使打雷柏，有几天加班就可以买一台了。但怕刺激LZ，码好字还是cancel了。看了这个286的洋相，禁不住回回。移民来此，加拿大和中国286早都当废铁论斤卖了，谁都不可能装配286的，连586都少见。

just get a modded xbox, replace the original HD with a bigger one,cost is: used xbox: $50
mod chip: $15
300g HD: $60
high-def component AV cable for xbox: $20
total: 145.
then install xbmc on xbox, the video can be transferred into xbox by ftp.
then play mp3, any format video from xbox with remote.
works great

xbox不支持1080P吧，它的高清输出也就是s-video,应该是720P,再说啦，xbox的解压能力有限，超过720P的话，就很明显能看出来很卡。。。

一台机器，要兼顾楼上楼下也太麻烦了吧！看个电影还要到楼上播放。干脆买个二手电脑主机，拉条网线，专门下载和播放电影。或者买个硬盘DVD播放器.

如果看网上下载的video,或者租碟的DVD, 用modified XBOX最好，直接dvd2xbox烤到硬盘里，然后随便看，还支持无线网口，从你其他电脑FTP. 如果追求1080p, 还是用带蓝光碟的PC巴
