枫下家园 / 家用电器 / LCD TV questionsAt this Xmas time, lot of XDJM had brought LCD TV. I believe most of them also took the advantage of the year free HD channel. Can any one tell me that, how satisfied you are with the HD TV image, picture quality, are they as good as seem in show room?. another question, if a regular DVD player connected with Component cable to LCD 1080p TV, what kind of picture quality you guys have? Thank you

I bought a LG 42' 1080i LCD last year and it came with one year free Rogers HTDV (including terminal rental and special channel package).1) HD programs have better quality than DVD. They are same or even better than what you see in stores.
2) SD channels are relatively good, newer programs (e.g. news, later movies, games) are excellent.
3) Component is good enough. LG even prefers S-Video than HDMI when watching LOR because S-Video is "warmer".

I got 52" 1080p, the image is not that great when I use regular Rogers cable if I sit not far than 3.5m away from TV, however I bought a 1080 Video Camera ,the picture is excellent when I use HDMI cable play back on TV,

Am I reading correct?Am I reading correct ? in order to have best quality picture on the HD LCD TV ,it must have a device also support the 1080p signal or the HD Channel with HD box?
on my LCD TV,The picture quality is very good when I use Sony play station 3 to play blue ray DVD movie and other regular DVD movie.
However, when I play regular DVD movie on a normal DVD player with component cable connected to TV, picture is not very good, it is worser then play on normal TV set, does you guy have same result?

Yes. PS3 to 1080p TV is pixel-to-pixel display, while anything else (meaning not in LCD native resolution) has to be resized/upscaled.
