you can, but you have to provide your source code (the part you changed and adapted) to the client as well, as the license required.

do you mean i need to share the code that i changed in order to adapt to my own product, but not my whole project's source code.

and this, i seems i cannot use the component in my commercial softwareIf a library is released under the GPL (not the LGPL), does that mean that any program which uses it has to be under the GPL?
Yes, because the program as it is actually run includes the library
