Tuning DB performance from AIX side is a good start point.Generally, Unix admin considers performance issue from UNIX side; DBA considers perfromance from DB (and app) side. If you can combine two sides, you will get good result. If you want to be a Unix admin while being DBA, then start to study AIX redbooks on IBM site.

Thanks for your reply. Would you give a guide line on it( like, printer/queue setup, lv/gv/pg setup. etc) and give a suggestion on the first book to start with? :-) (a newbie needs a boost to start )
