如果再加一块70G 硬盘. 能否变成 70x4 = 280G.

Thanks, got key words "Online Capacity Expansion" .This is a specific case of morphing or migration. It is the process of adding space to an existing RAID array within a session while preserving the RAID type and data within the array is known as online capacity expansion. 不需要重装吧，直接把硬盘加到阵列里应该就可以了。不过不是280G.你确定是raid 5吗？3块的容量应该是140G, 4块应该是210G吧。

今天装了一台windows 2003，特意试了一下。用的是compaq 5302 raid controller, 先做了个三块硬盘的raid 5, 共70G, 分了40G装系统，30G做数据分区(这点很重要，系统分区不能扩展）。装完windows2003, 又加了一块35G的硬盘。先进ACU( compaq的raid 管理软件），把新的硬盘加到阵列里，跑了差不多两个小时才完。得到一个105G的逻辑硬盘。然后启动windows2003,用diskpart 软件，把数据分区扩展到65G. -holdon(again); 2006-3-16 {328} (#2844283@0)

I don't recomend this......1. The second disk is not part of the RAID 5 so it won't take advantage of high availability and ( Disk IO is not manageable )
2. Diskpart will make your new partition more fragile just becasue 1 disk fail will destroy the whole new created partition
3. W2k3 diskpart make new partition look very ugly ( Not sure in Unix)

You misunderstood it. The last disk has been added to the raid 5 array, so it's a four disk (35G) raid5, totally 35*3=105G. Why do you think diskpart will make the new partition look ugly? -holdon(again); 2006-3-21 (#2854602@0)
