工作学习 / 专业技术讨论 / 磁带系统可以备份晕到死2000的系统盘吗？一旦系统无法启动，由于绝大部分磁带机无法引导，也没有命令行下的磁带软件可以恢复备份在tape上的C盘，因而是不是只能使用光盘或硬盘来备份C盘？还是说一旦系统完蛋，要先用常规方法重新安装系统，再恢复磁带上的c盘（含windows目录）？要是这样的话，windwos应该不允许对自身进行覆盖吧？

You need to make a machine specific floppy disk, CD image, and a full backup of the server. Using the floppy to start the server, it will prompt you to put in CD and tape.

谢谢你的解释，很详细。不过data我认为怎么备份都不会对系统是否failer有关系。我现在主要想知道，如果windows系统failer，arcserver可以自动引导并读取tape上备份的操作系统，对吗？

That image CD is mainly for the operating system, not the data. You backup the system everyday on the tape, but you only need to make a machine specific floppy disk and a image CD once at the beginning.

u should make the server to be fully redundent, instead of playing the tape backup. tape should be last recovery method for most mission critical cases.

to be fully redudent, u could run server clustered, it really depends on each service.or such as DB, u could mirror it, exchange, copy the backend mail file to another one, and remount it..but the recovery time is not as fast as clustered solution.

你说的很有道理，但不是所有的应用都有安装这套系统的需要。对于普通一般小企业应用，也没有必要集群什么的，而且中断小半天的服务也是可容忍的。这种需求下，怎么恢复系统最快最省事？镜像＋ASR？

如果不想用CLUSTER,最快的就是用MS Load Balancing service,买一台很便宜的电脑就行,然后进行定时COPY数据文件

another suggestion, consider using microsoft virtual server 2005 R2 or vmware GSX/ESX server, and lower level disk RAID-1 or 5, if disk fails, only need to rebuild.or if the hardware totally failed, just copy those virtual disk file to another server, and boot it up.

The way I said is the simplest way. You can restore your server to the state it was before the last full backup.
