have one internal hard diive and one external drive. How can I reboot from the external
Hard Drive(suppose I install Linux on it)?This external drive(40G) was easy been recognized by windows but could not
automatically recognized by BIOS. How to fix it?

As you said, the external drive can not be recognized by BIOS, so, I am afraid you can not use it to boot any OS, including Win2K and Linux.

Yes, I agree with you on this point. But is it possible to upgrade my BIOS? or u guys
have other solution for this kind of problem? Or any suggestion about any kind of
external hard drive can do such thing? Thanks

没用过external drive, 但是我觉得肯定可以引导。装个grub, 网上查查 gurb external drive,
