you can use nearly all unix command on Mac OS XMac OS X is totoally redesigned, different than previous one. the kernel os Mac OS X is darwin, which is open source kernel similar with freebsd.
as my experience, Mac OS X is an excellent OS, has many new concepts and is applied the newest software engineering stuffs, lof of useful frameworks. objective c is easy to learn for some one like me (a c geek).
used many open source stuffs such as gcc, and pthread.
In short it is super cool both for user and programmer.

首先感谢。Unix基本不懂，苹果我只是用不编程，但是想对其有个了解。用了这么多年窗口现在看见命令行就害怕，MAC OS X 的确设计的挺好，非常稳定有效。

This is a interesting question. Apple use Mac OS which is based on Freebsd kernel. And Freebsd is a one of Unix.Because word "Unix" is a trademark. So it Freebsd can not called "unix" ( but it is). The only interesting thing is Microsoft net kernel is borrow from Freebsd, too.
