10TB？＝10000GB， if u use 200GB disk =50 disks?? how many SATA cable do u have in the box? better to use disk arry, and connect the array with the box by FC, Fastest SCSI cable or IBM SSA(can't remember the name exacly).
i don't know if Unix box support SATA? I suppose u r using Unix box.

有啥好方法能把几十个SATA硬盘做RAID?是不是还要把几个SATA硬盘RAID成SCSI先?

实在不行了就用NFS把。50台PC装LINUX， 做NFSserver，用giga ether net/switch 分别连到server上的4个giga NIC上。每台PC上装250G x 4 个硬盘，没显示器，没显卡，256内存（这就是EMC的低低端版本吗！！）合起来的容量：
200 x 4 x 50 ＝40TB
成本最多也就是普通硬盘的两倍。（200 (一个硬盘的价钱）*4 *50 ） ＊ 2（PC价钱是硬盘的2倍） = 40kCAD
带宽：maximum：1G／8＊4 ＝ 500MB／s
这是filesystem level的。只是不可以作volumn management:pv, vg, lv之类的。
linux上还有raw device level的 share:叫 什么忘了。99年就有了。 这样你就可以做volumn managment了。
这叫disk server array(我发明的，哈哈。)

You can get 250G ATA drive from market. For EMC you can get 15 slots closure with 1 global spare and raid 5 which will be 13X250G=32T total.
It will cost you pretty much, you can also check with HP MSA1000 SAN

We can build linux NAS for up to 2TB with either ide or scsi. Linux ext3 filesystem currently is not scale well over 2TB in size.
