thank. that is the normal vlookup usage. what i am looking for is, instead of one value in the first column, two columns are used. And in the second parameter area, two column are used as match key. Any idea?

Simple. Combine those two columns. Then vlookup. Then break those two columns up. Try to think of other solutions to solve the problem instead of wasting time to get too deep into it.
