At your own risk. But if I were you, I would take a photo according to their requirement. It's much more painful if your visa application get refused than spending money on photos, right?

What store is authorized? By what? US VO can zoom in/out your photo to the size they want. The face ratio of our photos is totally different, but they look like about the same size on the visa.

第一次去签，三年以前，照片没有明确要求，就用的booth拍的那种，没问题。最近又去签，照片要求很明确，不敢冒险，找了一家照相馆，他们知道怎么确定尺寸。如果你通过了，祝贺你，运气很好，不过不意味着别人也有这么好的运气，如果因为这个被拒，额外花费的精力时间怎么算？

你认为会单单因为照片被拒吗?被拒的理由太多了.再者,如果照片真不合格,那里就有一个PHOTO BOOTH可以重拍. 在北美这个标准化社会,你任为会有很多规格的PHOTO BOOTH吗?量来量去,我觉得那照片很符合标准呀!

Costco--about $6 for two. It is Canadian Passport Size. Then you cut it by yourself. It fits perfect because the size of the head is as same as US visa requirement.

BTW, the quality is perfect too. Just do not forget to ask the staff do not cut your photo, you need to cut it by yourself. I use this and works fine today in the consulate.
