/etc/hosts hostname and ip maping here.
/etc/nodename put your host name here, IP address is ok if you want.
/etc/hostname put your host name

this is the detail procedure, in the hostname*, you give our the hostname, then you map hostname to ip address in /etc/hosts :)

there is no /etc/hostname. Use sys-unconfig instead. I have to re-do all the configureation.

u r 99% right. after did sys-unconfig. the system create a file "hostname.hme0". it contains one line-the hostname of the box
