Yes. I got a document from Ameritrade Canada. It saidThere is no account maintenance fee for brokerage accounts with at least four executed trades in the previous six months, or a total liquidation values of $2000(US) or above. Brokerage accounts that are open for more than 6 months and are below these guidelines are subject to a $15 quarterly account maintenance.

if you have time, go to their office, get application form and return it next day with a cheque deposite. The account is ready in 2~3 days.
