if you do not know any culture and life style of western countries, it will be very hard to accept the ideal of life. you have to face it, if you want to marry him.if he works only, he will give you enough for the life, rest of money will be kept in his account. if both of you work, both of you have to share the cost of life. rest of them will be kept in separated accounts. this is the same way after you have a baby. Any way, both of you have to negotiate well at first.

It really depands on the individuals. Most families I know, it is the wife who take care of the finance of the house, the hubby just recieve pocket money. It does not matter if the wife has a job or notAs you know your BF better, you may be able to talk about how to manage the finance in the house with him. If you want to do it in a subtle way, you can observe the pattern of how he spends and save. It should not be too hard to find out. Just treat him as a Chinese. :)
