It is an interesting question. Anybody know that? My understanding is: it is reasonable to claim capital loss because the company is gone. But I have no idea of CCRA's interpretation.

I asked actiondirect the question: Can I sell the share with 0 value, they said it is bankcrupted, you can't sell it.so I asked if I can't sell, can I claim the capital loss? They said no. I asked them this question one year ago, now anyone has new answer?

If it is legally bankrupted, you should get a summary of your portfolio showing the value is zero so that you can claim tax credit for capital loss. I believe they should send you something.
