这要求是合理的，将来你入了加籍，办中国签证时，也要求你护照有效期半年以上。你应该走之前到中国领馆办护照延期，很方便的。同样的路线我走过，没有任何问题。乘飞机离开美国前要交回i-94，正常，与你后来的事没有关系。

If you show your passport to the INS inspector in Pearson and tell them your passport will get expired in less than 6 months, you will be barred for sure.They let you in by overlooking the experie date, which does not necessarily mean you will be granted to be in next time.

I ever gave my I-94 to the staff on the airport or the visa officer. They all asked me: "Don't you want to go to US again within this half year?" Then if I insist they'd take it.But this time, the guy just tear the I-94 down and askd me nothing. The same?

you don't need surrender the I94 when you are leaving US to Canada. But you must and are forced to give it up when you are leaving US to China. That's the rule.

我的看法:1,护照少过6个月许多国家都不许入境.2,如果你是乘飞机离开美国的,I-94表会在你办理登机手续时,他们会自动拿掉的. 如果你是开车的话,没人会管I-94表,除非你自动交出.

我感觉美国人的态度很不友好，有时专门刁难。我去美国时如果和本地白人一起，有一次连护照都不看，基本不用下车。如果是和东欧的同事，每次都要下车到里面谈。我感觉他们不是按规定办的，有很大的随机型和灵活性。

这个要求不过分啊。很多地方都要求你的护照要又半年以上的有效期才能入境的。不光美国如此。这也不是911后出来的新规定。一直都有。

那他说的应该是其他的rule，而不是护照要有半年有效期的问题。至少在5年以前我第一次去美国就有了。再往前不知道。此外，上面我贴子列举的国家我当初去的时候也是要求半年的有效期。

my passport will be expired on 2003.6.2, I applied US visa on 2002.12.8, and enter US on 2002.12.23, there was not any problem. May be my experience is different story from yours.
