3 years. But there are some tricks. Say deposit on Dec-30-2001, then withdraw on Jan-1-2004. The actual time period here is 2 years plus several days.

So canada 123 is right. If you bought SRRSP on Dec.31/2002, your wife can withdraw it on Jan.1/2005... A little bit tricky
