If you have free space on HDD, you don't have to fdisk/format it, Linux installation will automatically find the free space and will ask you then. (I'm moving and not have 24hr internet access yet)I have Windows98 and Turbo Linux on the only HDD of my notebook now. Have one primary for win98, one extend includes two logic for win98/data, and one Linux native and one Linux swap.

奥，这样啊。如果你用redhat7.0和windows双启成功过，那你肯定是对的。我当时用了systemcommander才行，redhat 7.0还得用软盘引一下。也许偶太笨了。:p

在一块硬盘上装windows和linux有很大的风险，不宜新手操作，建议另买一块硬盘来装linux

You can try on a new HDD, install just Windows, and then try to install Linux on it, using LILO, or whatever. Agree with 'chenql26', never do such tests on the production systems.

it's due to unsophistication of 7.0 to NTFS. modify LILO config file (/etc/lilo.conf) and add the boot segment to point to Win2k.For your condition, I suggest using VMware to host Win2k and Redhat on same computer even on same partition.

没问题呀，linux 从1996年就有lilo 能多系统启动，现在进步不少了， 偶现在就在一块硬盘上装了，redhat 8.0, winXP, win98 三个，互不干扰，而且其他两个系统都可以读写98的文件，注意装redhat的时候用customized
