as/400 using os/400 which is similiar with aix but totally different. Forget them if you didn't work for them before.

完全不一样。 没用过OS/390,用过一点点 MVS/IMS , 完全不同于OS/400. 想学习 IMS 我有 PC上的模拟器。 600多兆，应用不太多。可以学个初步。

Many developers like RPG for OS400. It's easy compare with UNIX. MVS, VMS and VM are very difficult for beginners. The developer should learn CICS. Visualage make it easier.

差别大了，基本是两个不兼容系统。一般mainframe指运行OS/390(z/OS)的体系结构，AS/400属于midrange(小型机)，运行OS/400。我也是OS/390系统管理员。

很多Mainframe系统都外包(outsourcing)给专门服务公司(IBM,EDS等), 例如CIBC, Scotia Bank, TD, etc...这导致了mainframe的工作机会很少.

就我所知，大多数应用很有些年头了，无一例外使用COBOL，基于IMS或者DB 2数据库。新的应用也有使用Java和C的。现在的OS/390有部分符合UNIX的POSIX标准，跟AIX相似．

这么说来，我找工作的希望还是很大了。我做了3年的mainframe，熟悉cobol, jcl, db2, ims, 不过对cics不熟悉。
可是我接到的phone interview都是中介的，而且也没有下文了。
能找到工作吗？
