It depends. Imperial account and account with $1000 remaining credit at all times don't need to pay transaction fees. Or you pay a fee upfront for limited or unlimited transactions. Otherwise you may have to pay.

It's absolutely free when you deposit money into cibc's a/c, no matter what kind of a/c you have opened.Btw, there's only one kind of a/c called "waive a/c" offers free unlimited transactions with keeping $1000 balance all the moment, otherwise you still have to pay the service charge no matter how much money you have. Better to check it before use.
