另外,学校要求提供CURRICULUM VITAE,这个东西是什么?是简历吗?

学校要求写curriculum vitae and study intent,能认为是要求写PERSONAL STATEMENT吗?这两个东西是一样的吗?

不一样。curriculum vitae 就是指你的简历（编年的那种）； study intent 是指你想从事研究的专业领域。PERSONAL STATEMENT则是一篇谈自己的学习动机、目的、特点等的文章。

CURRICULUM VITAE is resume, mostly often used in Bristish English. ACADEMIC DISTINCTION can be interpreted as 学术造诣 or 成就 . Curriculum Vitae and study intent does not equal to PERSONAL STATEMENT.
