I already had SSN from US. Do you guys buy the house in US or rent first? I really do not want to move too much and give my child a steady life,

My experience: I moved to California in July. With the relocation help provided by my employer,

I bought a house in a month and moved in 45 days later. My family (4 of us) settled down very quickly.
My two kids like the school here. I think it is important to make a quick decision. It is good for your family and good for yourself.
My employer bought down my interest rates. They paid all the cost, including selling the house and the closing fee for the new purchase. it depends on your relocation package.

I think it will depend on how old we are, also the kids, if we are older than 48 or 50, it better to keep the house in Canada for retirement (TN holder who doesn't know when will get GC). The house's price is still up in Canada at Feb.
