Because of the recent outbreak of the novel coronavirus in Wuhan, China, we understand that you may want to make alternate travel arrangements. For this reason, Air Canada has extended its goodwill policy related to the outbreak.

If you are scheduled to travel during the affected period, you can retrieve your booking and change your flight free of charge, subject to availability in the cabin you originally purchased. Otherwise, any fare difference will apply.

Customers travelling to, from or via Wuhan also have the option of cancelling their flight for a full refund.

Details and a list of affected airports are as follows.

    为配合做好新型冠状病毒肺炎疫情的防控工作，对已购买北京/上海出发或到达航班的乘客，加航提供免费退票或改期服务，具体如下：

    散客机票规定
    在2020年1月24日0时之前出票，且出票地是中国大陆，旅行日期为2020年1月24日-2月15日（含）可办理全退。但乘客需在航班起飞前取消航段，票证为014开头。
    如行程改期但无法确认更改日期，乘客需联系出票地取消航班，并让出票地做后续航段机票保留，免改期费。
    如行程改期至2020年4月15日（含）之前，免改期费，免差价（限同等舱位-经济舱换经济舱，豪华经济舱换豪华经济舱，尊享商务舱换尊享商务舱）。
    如行程改期至2020年4月16日(含）之后，免改期费。
    如更改路线，免改期费。
    代理人退票或换开客票需要在OSI项或EI项备注CHINAJAN20。

    团队机票规定
    已确认团队无法成行，需先发邮件至加航中国团队邮箱，取消航段，避免误机。
    团队政策节后将统一回复处理。

        今天，加航再次就新冠肺炎疫情发布航班调整通告，经政府批准，往返于加拿大和北京/上海之间的航班停飞期延长至2020年3月27日。

        1月29日，加拿大政府发布旅行警告，建议所有加拿大人避免前往中国的“非必要旅行”。加航随即宣布停飞中国北京和上海的直飞航班，原本的停飞期持续到2月底，但是今天加航再次做出调整，延长至3月底。

        加航表示，公司将与加拿大公共卫生局、加拿大交通部和全球事务部保持密切联系和磋商，密切监视新冠病毒疫情不断变化的趋势，并提醒旅客酌情调整自己往返与中国和加拿大之间的时刻表。

        与此同时，加航宣布从3月1日至3月27日暂时停飞多伦多至中国香港的每日直达航班，温哥华直飞香港航班保持不变。加航称，这一举动是由于市场需求减少造成的。最初预定了多伦多至香港航班的旅客可以中转至温哥华，继续行程。

        原本加航每周有14班航班飞往香港，7班从多伦多起飞，7班从温哥华起飞。

        另外，如果您前往中国及香港还有返回的航班被取消了，而在未来几天确实有出行计划，请及时联系订票的旅行社，或直接致电1-888-247-2262与加航联系，尽快找到折中的解决方案。

        还有一个常见的问题是，有些乘客预定了之后（3月之后）往返于加拿大和中国的航班，暂时还没有被取消，是否可以申请重新预定和退款呢？

        加航表示，在航班被确定取消的第一时间就会和乘客联系。如果想重新预定，可以联系旅行社或加航；如果想申请退款，可以通过以下表格：

        Flights to/from People's Republic of China

        Air Canada is extending the suspension of its flights between Canada and Beijing and Shanghai until March 27, 2020 [subject to government approval]. Services to Beijing and Shanghai were initially suspended for the month of February following the Government of Canada's January 29, 2020 advisory discouraging non-essential travel to China.

        Air Canada will continue to monitor this evolving situation closely in consultation with the Public Health Agency of Canada, Transport Canada and Global Affairs and will adjust its schedule as appropriate.

        Air Canada operates direct flights to Beijing and Shanghai from Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver.

        Flights to/from Hong Kong

        From March 1-27, 2020, Air Canada will temporarily suspend its daily non-stop Toronto-Hong Kong flights, reflecting reduced market demand. The airline's daily, non-stop Vancouver-Hong Kong flights will accommodate customers originally booked on its Toronto-Hong Kong flights.

        Air Canada normally operates 14 weekly flights to Hong Kong, seven from Toronto and seven from Vancouver.

        Flights to and from Taipei remain unaffected.
