做SAP BASIS ADNIMISTRATION的人确实不多，SAP面临PEOPLESOFT+ORACLE的巨大的挑战，加上售价偏高，今后如果不调整战略，必定会死惨惨。- 此本马一孔之见耳。

在资源，财力等方面，是否要使用SAP确实是对公司管理的一个挑战，我们正在经历这一切，整个SAP FOR NORTH AMERICA，预计超过100M，包括几乎所有模块(除了HR和PS)，HR还用PSFT。对于大企业SAP还是第一的。

I meant if you have some (several years) SAP experience.This is just my experience:
In this company, SAP Certificate does mean something and is highly recommended. So I went through two certificates w/o taking the academy courses: ABAP and BW. I am planning for a workflow one if time allows me.

Congradulation! You are holding a valuable package.ABAP is the basic.
Between BW and workflow, I prefer the workflow because:
1 Technically, BW can be replaced by ETL + Cognos/MicroStrategy. And the alternate solution is even more flexable
2 The workflow can lead you into the real business flow, which you cannot learn outside your company.

SAP的培训认证还不是很烂（不是有台PC就能自己玩儿的），认证比较oracle, MS..等有分量很多。

Now I am a SAP Basis, but I am thinking to get a CERT of a SAP function module like SD or MM. Is it a good idea? I may not want to be a SAP basis one day.

Most of our function consultants have CERT, some of them even have MBA. For a technical guy like me, it might be too hard to be function guy?

有SAP经验的：应用的，ABAP的可以注意每3个月注意一下bombardier(Montreal)，他们有个5年的SAP上线项目，rollout多多,现在是项目的第三年。Anyway, SAP expert make good money in canada in now market.或干脆发个RESUME去得了，更省心。

我也是basis, R/3 4.6C, 去年公司上了Enterpries Portal/BW/XI, 下个月上CRM,
EP HR go-live this weekend, XI live already, BW live this weekend too.

Thanks. basis is 100% inhouse. but of couse there are consultants for development. we may upgrade to 4.7 later this year too.
