工作学习 / IT技术讨论 / 请教一个switch的问题。cisco里面spanning-tree的priority是个干什么用的？有2个cisco swithes连在一起，上面有2个vlan。看网络工程师在第一switch上配vlan 1的priority大，vlan 2小。到了第二个switch上正好反过来有什么讲头？我想在相在加一个vlan 3。该怎么办啊？

在VLAN1里，SWITCH1是ROOT BRIDGE。在VLAN2里，SWITCH2是ROOT BRIDGE。你不用管这些，随便加一个VLAN3就行。

这是为了均衡流量。要加vlan, 单数的VLANswitch1 的priority 高， 双数的 switch 2 的 priority 高 就可以了

is it "lower always better" in spanning tree?If switch one's priority is 8192 on VLAN1, switch 2's priority is 32767on VLAN 1, then switch one has a better chance to be the root bridge on VLAN 1 on cisco's implementation per vlan spanning tree?
I maybe wrong as I did those 4 years ago and my member is blurred..

Yes, the one with lower value of STP priority becomes root of that vlan.
