枫下茶话 / 美国话题 / 我是新移民，来加拿大2个月，没有工作。我现在收到了美国一所大学邀请我去做讲座的邀请信；还收到了另一所大学让我去面试助理教授的职位。请问拿到签证的机会大吗？去一个大学讲座的身份和面试助理教授的身份，哪个身份更容易拿到签证？

I won't suggest you apply a visa using interview as the reasonThe officer may reject you right away. They don't want you go to the US just for trying to find a job. But if you already find one, that's another case. BTW, I am not sure if you stay in Canada long enough to apply visa there. I heard that need 6 months longer, not sure. You can find it by doing some research.
