An old scam but still applies to some ppl:

本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛Although this is an older scam (at least since '95), and has been
classified pretty much as an "urban legend," it may apply to you
depending on your phone system, and some of us non-profits may still
be using one of these older digital phone systems.

If you DO NOT need to dial "9" to get to an outside line, you can stop here.

If you have to dial "9" to get to an outside line, but has certain
restrictions such as not able to call long distances freely, you are
also immune to this scam.

But if you have to dial "9" to get to an outside line, and then has
unrestricted usages, you need to be careful. DO NOT dial "9" "0" "#"
for any outside callers asking you to. The "legend" has it that
someone poses as a technician from the phone company saying that they
are testing the phone line, and asks you to dial 9 0 # and hang up.
If you follow this instruction, it gives that person access to your
outside line, and they can start placing long distance calls charged
to your organization.更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net

BELL CANADA ALERT: Do NOT push 90# on your home phone.

Got a call last night from an individual identifying himself as an AT&T
Service technician who was conducting a test on our telephone lines. He stated that to complete the test I should touch nine (9), zero (0), the pound sign (#) and then hang up. Luckily, I was suspicious and refused.
Upon contacting the telephone company, I was informed that by pushing 90#, you give the requesting individual full access to your telephone line, which allows them to place long distance telephone calls billed to your home phone number. I was further informed that this scam has been originating from many of the local jails/prisons.

DO NOT press 90# for ANYONE.

PLEASE pass this on to your friends. If you have mailing lists and/or newsletters from organizations you are connected with, I encourage you to pass this on.
