有关DVD, receiver 和 TV 连接问题,
3 个设备都有HDMI. 我想用2根HDMI cable 来连: DVD -> receiver-> TV.
结果没有声音从我的 home theater speaker (not the TV speaker) 出来.

看了说明书, 发现:
1. 这个receiver 的HDMI 是个switch (ver1.2)
2. "To hear audio from your HDMI component through this system, make analog and/or
digital connections as necessary. Without this connection, HDMI audio will
still be output from your TV or plasma display (though no sound will be heard
from this receiver)"
原来这个receiver 的HDMI 不能pass audio 信号到的我 speaker.只有video 信号.

我的问题是: 是不是其他的receiver 也是一样的, 音频信号不能通过DVD 机的HDMI 传到receiver? 如果那样那receiver 的HDMI 还有什么有意呢?

这个receiver 用了2天 ($ 370 from BB)
1. 2次 power on 开关不好使, 按了后没反映. 1分钟后再try, work.
2. 发热.
买来后, 发现很热, 甚至有点汤. 然后去 BB比较. 他是那里 80% 开着的里面最热的.
3. 打算还一个其他的, 听听大家的意见.

The main difference between the two is the way they connect to the receiver. The coaxial fits securely on the input jack and is more like a standard analog cable, and is probably better for a longer run. An optical cable can distort sound with just a slight kink in the cable. They both produce excellent sound.

Both digital cables send the same type of signal (& I would recomend either one to anybody because digital is the way to go). the coax does it with electricity (electrons, voltage, pulses of current if you will) & the fiber-optics cable does it with optics (with light, or photons). If you can keep the digital cable relatively free from sharp bends & too much winding... then go ahead go with the optics cable, it will be virtually untouchable by electromagnetic noise that may be around your components. If it will be wound quite a bit or have to round a few corners... then go with the coax cable, it isn't affected as much by the bending. I

首先，选用Yamaha HTR 6090B 功放，7.1 channel, HDMI 1.2a. 选这个主要是因为有120W/CHANNEL的功率。（899CAD）小功放当然也能代大音箱，但我觉得还是尽量匹配好。
前置选用 POLK的落地音箱 RTI10，各300W，如果用Bi-amp的话，我的功放支持120X2=240W，马马湖湖。现在特价525。我觉的前置应该多花点。
中置选用 POLK 的 CS2，175W， 299。
后置采用POLK的POLK MONITOR 50，各150W， 400USD，后两个音箱我得去BAFULLO买，加拿大没找到。
这里已经2100了。已经翻了一倍，但想着至少可以听个10年8年的，觉的还是应该花点做固定投资。不然买个鸡肋，过一两年想换，旧的又浪费了。

底音炮不准备第一次买了，因为前置每个音箱各有两个7“的，一个6.5”的喇叭，我房间也不算大，先将就了。再一个原因是我要买的POLK PSW505太贵，要500多，还是等等吧.

过两天去FUTURESHOP听听效果。这两天光搞这个了，该去挣钱了。
