If anything was wrong, you were not lucky, got rejected, it’d be very troublesome to return/reschedule the flight ticket, therefore applying TN from the border is what most people do. Safty 1st.

Driving Direction from Ottawa:
Take Highway 416 south, when close to Exit 1, follow the road sign “To USA”.

本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛过境时交护照，告诉他们来申请TN。进到楼里，等着叫我们。叫进去先要材料，我给了公司的TN letter，律师提供的cover letter，G28表，一封公司人事部门发的email（上面有我的first day of work），我的学位证书复印件，婚姻公证复印件，孩子的出生公证复印件。之所以给复印件是因为当时这些都放在一个信封，我问他要不要学位证书原件，他说等会儿再说。过一会儿叫我们到柜台跟前，问是否是去哪哪工作，family去不去。答去。于是要婚姻公证。又show了学位证书。然后他就一个人忙活了。输入信息，打印I94订好，护照盖章，写注解。然后所有材料还给我，我们出去交钱。TN申请费$50,I94卡一人$6。可以用信用卡。

我们去之前打电话问，他们建议8：00am-4：00pm之间去，说那时候TN specialist在，其他时间也可以来。我们本来是计划4：00以前去，结果边境那里堵车堵得一塌糊涂，几乎就不动，一个小时可能就前进了不到一百米。过去已经四点半了。到里面接着等了一个多小时才到我们。真正办理也就十分钟就办完了。

公司给我的TN信写了一年，但没有给起始和截至日期。email上的first day 还差几天，但没有人mention anything about it，也没有人问是否是直接过去工作。给我的感觉是提前来签很正常。I94是一年的期限，有有效的I94，你什么时候都可以以此身份进去。更多精彩文章及讨论，请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net

请千万提前２周去边境办理ＴＮ签证。我半年前签的时候，签证官告诉我说我是他那天见的第十二个ＴＮ申请者，但是是当天发出的第一个签证。这也是我本人的第二次ＴＮ签证申请，第一次也是被拒了。以我两次在签证办公室等候时的观察估计，ＴＮ申请被拒的不少于８０％。可能总的被拒的比例没有这么高，但首签的失败比例应该如此。
