本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛AD And Exchange migration plan for AAA
The domain AAA.CA is in the forest of the parent company BBB; the mails are forwarded to the exchange server reside at AAA where all the AAA users have their mail boxes. AAA users use the BBB’s internet connection to go out to the internet and to access OWA they (AAA employees) go to https://mail.BBB.com and use their AAA.CA credentials.
The goal is to separate the AAA network from BBB’s network and migrate the AD and the exchange mail boxes to a new AD forest and exchange organization or migrate the domain into CCC forest and the exchange server to the CCC’s exchange organization. AAA will be using CCC’s internet connection to access the internet.
Option 1:
Create a new domain AAA.COM in a new forest and migrate all the users and computers from AAA.CA to this new domain then migrate the mailboxes and public folders to the new exchange organization under AAA.COM domain. Create external trust between AAA.COM and CCC.CA for the users to be able to access the resources between AAA and CCC
How to achieve this (migration Plan)?
What tools can be used?
What are the possible risks?
What are the drawbacks?
Option 2: (preferred)
Migrate the AAA.CA domain into the CCC forest and exchange server to the CCC exchange organization and cluster the exchange server for fault tolerance.
How to achieve this?

What are the possible risks?
