Help Me! stuck on AIX 5.3 installation

new_user(new_user)
spent past two days trying to install AIX 5.3 on RS/6000 7043-150. But it hangs on the installation CD volume 1. The box can boot from CD but stops at:

boot device: /pci@80000000/scsi@10/sd@3:\ppc\chrp\bootfile.exe
kener size: 10941966; 32 bit kernel

I updated the firmware to the latest TPC05287 and the 32X CD-ROM(97H7610) Microcode to 1_03 also, but still could not get it to work. It has no problem on AIX 5.1 installation.

If you have any solutions or bright ideas please let me know.

      • 1. Yes, I tried it on the same CD on 7044-170 had no issues 2. long enough for me to fly back to China 3. Graph terminal, but from a PCI vedio card(same setting for 7044-170) -new_user(new_user); 2005-12-17 (#2667647@0)
