1) open a cmd window start->run->cmd from the first computer, and
try:
C:> ipconfig /renew
2) it should success, if not, check network connection, switch the cable with the first machine. at least the 2nd machine should work.
3) if 2nd one works, it means either the line connecting to the 2nd machine has problem, or the port of the router for the 2nd machine is bad (I had once), try to use a differnt port or line.
4) if still not working, it is your 2nd computer problem, card or configuration problem.
5) if both works on line 1 and cannot work the same time, it is your router's problem( I don't think the ASDL modem/router combination type of router support 2 computer the same time). you need a real router, I had mine setup that way. (sympatico)
