Please help H1-B

I am PR in Canada. Recently, I got an offer from USA. The employer will sponsor me H1-B. I didn't have any idea about H1-B. Although I search it from Internet, I didn't have the blueprint about H1-B. Does anyone have the experience to shed me some light? I have the following questions.
1 How long will the H1-B be processed?
2 Does it need to go to USA Consulate to apply for it?
3 How is the interview? Is it difficult to get the H1-B visa?
4 What is the tax for H1-B with PR in Canada?
5 Does it possible for H1-B holder to live in Canada and work in USA?

      1. If u employer expediate it, a couple of weeks.
      2. No, ur employer should do it for u.
      3. It's not easy to get an H1-B due to low H1B quota.
      4. Depends on your residence status.
      5. I think it's possible.

      本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛編譯宋凌蘭綜合二日電訊報導】允許專業人員在美工作的 H1B 簽證在 2005 新會計年度開始的第一天即告額滿，公民與移民服務局 (USCIS) 已不再接受申請。因此，很多需要外國專業人才的僱主，將無法雇用外籍員工。
      這是由於美國工人施壓，H1B 簽證從每年簽發 19 萬 5000 份減至6 萬 5000 份以來，第一次發生會計年度第一天名額就用罄的情形。

      雖然官員表示，並非所有 6 萬 5000 份簽證都已核發，但是假設所有申請都批准的話，政府已收到足夠填滿名額的申請。2005 會計年度從年 10 月1日至2005年9月30日。

      需要外國專業人才的僱主對此情況表示關切。

      在一封 9 月 7日寫給所有國會議員的信函中，「美國資訊科技協會」把 H1B簽證問題，列為國會應在本會期通過的八項立法「當務之急」之一。

      該封信指出，H1B 簽證短缺「嚴重限制美國企業爭取最佳人才的能力，傷害在美國及全球市場的長期競爭力。」

      在另一封致國會有關 H1B 簽證的信中，兩百多家公司組成的遊說團體「美國競爭」(Compete America)呼籲議員支持法案，立刻允許從美國大學獲得碩士及博士文憑的外國人，可不受 H1B名額限制獲得簽證。今年 4 月國會眾議員史密斯(共和黨，德州)提出該法案，但是，國會一直未採取行動。
