本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛Websphere trial version has its own database---it is a simplifie UDB. UDB has a limitation on the username, which should not be over 8 characters. If you log onto your Windows as "Administrator", you installtion will not work. To install Websphere, you have to log into the machine using some shorter usernames, such as "dog", "abc", "gong"...
Of course, you need first grant adminstrator's privileges to those guys.
I hope I have guessed out the reason. In summary, there are two points:
1) username cannot be over 8 characters;
2) user must have been granted adminsitrator's prililege.
To start up Websphere, go to control panel|service. However, you must be very very patient... it may take you a few minutes to get Websphere up. Once it is up, you may have a look at Task Manager. You will see CPU has been eaten up.
To manage Websphere, go to C:\...\Appserver\bin, run clientadmin.bat. Again, you must be patient. It will take a few minutes for the GUI to show up.
The GUI design is beautiful, but it is slow.
IN addition, it may get stuck.更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
