thanks buddy, it is abut Volume Manager,

tester(test)
something like using Volume manager to build a veritas volume from ==> plex ==> sub disk ==> then the bottom layer physical disk (DM - device media)

i now have a copy of vxprint output from one of our client, who can have some funny DM name like "fabric-1", "fabric-2", something like this, not the normal disk name of c0t0d0s0, c1t0d0s0......(i can not access those machine, and those device is not appear under the portion generated by "format" command) , that DM come with major device number of 253, i did not know what kind of device that is, disk array? should that be LUN or anything else?

              I think u can get better deal. for example: < 400 usd. remember, u still need to pay the shipping(may be another 100cad) and tax.

              My configuration has only one power suply. Still there are 4 big fans in the box. The noise is really like the noise in my previous customer's JI SHUAN JI FANG.
