  • 枫下佳缘 / 情爱悠悠 / for men: would you ask your date if she can cook? what if the answer is NO. for women: would you continue to date the guy who asked this questions?
    • it's common to ask "do you cook?", of course not "can you?". Some guys even love to hear "no" so that they can cook some good meals to please their dates.
      • waw, only heard this from whitemen, never from my own people, no wonder you were taken. ^_^
        • to please or not to please is a question :))))
    • why u ask? :-)
      • Caus' I was asked so many times. and you can guess my answer
    • I would stay away girls that don't cook . It's somehow very important //
      • Well, it really depends on the time, the place and PERSON. If a girl said to you she doesn't cook straightforward, you should know what she meant.
        • i can play fool
          • Absolutely. But...a fool doesn't call himself "fool". you said you can play fool, so...can you? ;-)
            • looks like i have to claim i AM a fool, to avoid being a fool
              • you don't have to, because "a fool doesn't call himself 'fool'" != "the person doesn't call himself/herself 'fool' is a fool".
                • right.
              • LOL.
        • why a guy would ask this question? is it more important than others in life? eg. intellengence, passion of life, etc.
          • 这是有的男同胞唯一关心的事,哪可不问
          • 哈哈, 俗话说“擒男先擒胃”:)
            • that is why I can not catch one for years. :((

                • or I date the guy who forgets to ask this quesion.
              • wow, it's just an excuse. Speaking of my own experience, everybody knew I didn't cook before I got married. Later I surprised everybody including my hubby. I'm not saying I'm a good cook now...
but I do feed my hubby and myself well.

Cooking is not difficult at all.

Everything depends on the time, the place and PERSON.
                • I agree. it should not be an issue.
          • Why are you bothered if you don't like the person who asked you this question? Why are you bothered if you do like the person who asked you this question?
                • I like the person until he asks this question........very soon.
                  • You're supposed to be in another extreme. "don't cook" doesn't mean "not intelligent" or "doesn't have passion of life". Asking this question doesn't mean...
he perfer "can cook" to "intelligent" or "have passion of life".

Take it easy, It's JUST a question.
    • why bother.我嫁给我老公之前在家里从来不进厨房, 不做家务的,甚至连西红柿都不知道怎么切.后来经过几年的磨练, 现在不是什么都会了. 重要的不是你会不会, 而是为了这个人,你愿不愿意:)
      • Did he ask you if you could cook on the first a few dates?
        • He doesn't care about that, because he can cook. haha...Remember this, guys are looking for a wife, not a chef:P
          • Are you sure they are not looking for a house keeper first and then plus?
            • pretty damn sure.
              • at least this is an honest one.
    • 我的厨艺认识的人都说好,但我差不多已经几个月没做饭了,会不会是一回事,做不做是令一回事,懒人会做也不做,勤快的不会都学会了,关键是问她愿不愿意做,而不是会不会,呵呵,
      • it sounds like the same question. My question would be why even ask?
        • i wouldn't mind if some one ask me if i can cook, but if i can not cook, he still ask me the same question,it could means he care about this and this could be a problem for our marriage.
    • Thank you guys. thought no ladies would response to my last question, but I got an implication. I brought this up since.......
One day when I was walking by the icy lake, thinking of a few leads happened in my life. I suddenly realized, everyone of my people (no exception) would ask me if I could cook. When I say NO, one said, "it is OK, it is easy to learn", one said, "wierd, women are supposed to be a cook", etc. but never (none) a whiteman asked me if I could cook. I just wonder why? I never think of asking a guy if could be a handy man, a bonus if he is ofcause. You can always find a house keeper (maybe not as cheap as a wife, but you pay high maintainence for a wife), but isn't it a soulmate a person is looking for with his heart? I am not making this issue a big deal, but doesn't hurt to give it a thought. Life is beautiful, it could be more beautiful with an openminded.
      • I think it has nothing to do with the color of men. My hubby never asked me this question. "cook" or "not cook" shouldn't be an issue in relationship. If I like someone, I wouldn't mind he asking me this question.:P
