本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛Since early this year, a group of Chinese friends living in Toronto has been organizing quite a few group activities - ball room dancing around Valentine's Day and Easter, St. Patrick's ski day, hiking in Terra Cotter, canoeing in Rockwood, Cherry picking on Canada Day.
The group of friends can be traced back 4 or 5 years ago, some of us are regular participants in Bay Street Chinese gatherings, we are called Bay Street Chinese because most of us are working in financial sector here, such as banks, insurance companies etc. As Wall Street in US, Bay Street is equivalent in T.O.
Through these activities, we noticed more and more single people joining and the group has expanded to include IT professionals, MBAs, engineers and a lot more. All single people here wants is to have a platform to socialize, so here we are, "Single meet Single" party which will ensure quality time and interaction for friends still single, the goal is to enhance the life here in Toronto for young people from China.
Our 1st “Single meet Single” party became a gem stone on August 5th, Sunday afternoon as it attracted over twenty young guys and gals to this fun and exciting event, and it was so well received that even after it’s completed, no one seems want to leave.
The afternoon starts with a game which truly heated up the room, everyone there got excited as the game progressed, once the game ends, they seems have known each other for quite a while. For the next couple of hours each participant got their own quality time talking to the person they might be interested.
For all the participants, it is a dynamic and serious talented group, it has IT professionals, business school students, MBAs, engineers, and they come from banks, insurance companies, mutual fund companies, multinational technology firms and etc.
Even when the party was over, you can still feel the enthusiasm from all the participants and truly no one seems want to leave the coffee shop.
As we want more single friends to benefit, we welcome all types of participation and suggestions and, we are in process planning a couple more events and will let you know the schedule ASAP. So everyone, please stay tuned….更多精彩文章及讨论，请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
